PMPE – Nepal PhotoSafari from 15th to 25th March 2013

Photosafari is arranging photography and trekking event from Lukla to Tengboche via Namche Bazaar from 15th to 25th March 2013. It is a 10 days and 9 nights leisurely walk in a high altitude park, along well defined tracks, where the landscape shooting opportunities are nothing short of spectacular.

The photo by Matthew Watt (www.trekearth.com/gallery) is a typical track along which you will walk.  This PhotoSafari is not something extraordinarily difficult because the porters will carry all your clothes and equipment, and we will not be walking more than about 10 km a day. However, participants are advised to begin some training at least a month before the event, by doing  at least an hour’s brisk walk on a jogging machine every other day, to loosen up and to build up  stamina. We have a few 60 and 67 year old grandfathers on the trip, so it’s quite doable.

The photo by Ivana Krexanova (www.trekearth.com/gallery) shows Namche Bazaar perched on a 3440 meters slope in the Khumbu area. Namche Bazaar is the gateway to the Everest Base Camp and the high Himalayas. As this is not a hard core trek, we will not go as far as the EBC but we will walk only up to Tengbuche, from where Mt Everest will be clearly visible for  some spectacular photography.

Photosafari.com.my have been organizing trekking and photography trips to the Himalayas in Nepal since 2011. In 2011 we did the Nyapul to Poon Hill trek, and in 2012 we walked from Besi Sahar to Manang.  This year’s trek will be from Lukla to Tengboche to shoot Mt Everest. Our trekking cum photography trips are not too strenuous. We have allowed enough time for participants to enjoy the views and interact with the local residents. Any able body with a month’s training should be able to make it. This is not a trekking expedition so there are no datelines or records to make. It is just a leisurely stroll to enjoy the Himalayas and to  bring back spectacular mountain scapes.  The highest elevation along the trek is around 3,800m. The trekking program is  given  below:
