I have always wondered when any digital camera would incorporate the multiple exposures on the same frame just like the feature in film cameras.

Multiple exposures on the same frame are useful when trying to express time in terms of a multiple of split seconds. The skill then was to calculate the exposure needed in each click of the shutter in order not to over or underexpose the frame. It was more like a trail and error approach.

I was surprised that the Pentax K-3 has this feature built-in. One can choose the number of multiple exposures and also how the exposures are blended. There are three blending modes, “average, additive and bright” One has to try to find out which blending mode is suitable for the situation.
