Street Boxing in Cuba

Story and photos by: Maxby Chan

Street boxing is becoming a very popular activity in the Old Havana. We have written an article on the efforts by ex-boxers of Cuba spending their time and money to teach the children the art of boxing to keep them off the streets. Here is the article on our photosafari travel blog: Boxing in Cuba

On our third photosafari to Cuba in May 2017, we chanced upon an impromptu boxing match on the street very near where we stayed in Old Havana. It is not a street brawl but a proper boxing match with coaches and spectators sans the boxing ring.
